Catherine Calvert Eaton's funeral is held. President Meyer sobs uncontrollably while delivering her eulogy.
Bill O'Brien is certified the winner in the Nevada recount. O'Brien is able to extend his lead in the state, leading to him overtaking Meyer in terms of the national popular vote.

President Meyer arrives at Camp David for what is officially a family outing. In actuality, she meets with Chinese President Lu Chi-Jang.
Tuesday, December 20
President Meyer discovers that the Chinese would be open to the freeing of Tibet in exchange for the removal of the sanctions Meyer placed on China a month earlier.
Wednesday, December 21
President Meyer signs a historic deal with the Chinese to free Tibet. The deal was not announced publicly, at Lu's request.
President Meyer is offered the position of vice president in a Tom James administration.
Thursday, January 5
The Senate vice presidential vote is held. Despite Tom James being favored to win, O'Brien running mate Laura Montez becomes vice president-elect, and due to the presidential vacancy, president-elect.
