The Jeffersons were a congressional caucus founded in June 2018 by New Hampshire Congressman Jonah Ryan. Featuring members of both parties, the Jeffersons were known for their opposition to Daylight Saving Time.

Role in 2018 government shutdown Edit

On July 13, 2018, the group gained notoriety for voting against a bill to raise the debt-ceiling, resulting in the 2018 government shutdown.

On August 6, 2018, a deal was reached between Congressman Clarence Clark and President Laura Montez to end the shutdown. Members of the Jeffersons, sans Ryan, would serve in Clark's new coalition known as "the Libertonians", thus dismantling the Jeffersons.
