The 43rd president of the United States served from 2005 to 2013. He won the presidency in the 2004 presidential election in a landslide 49-state victory against candidate Blake Stewart.
As the 2008 financial crisis did take place in the Veep universe, the 43rd president would have been president when it happened, but go on to win re-election in the 2008 presidential election.

In the 2012 presidential election, the other party won both the House and the presidency, indicating that 43 perhaps became unpopular towards the end of his time in office. He was succeeded by Stuart Hughes in 2013.
